The India Basin Neighborhood Association was pleased to welcome Assessor Carmen Chu to our Board of Directors meeting this month (via Zoom, of course). We appreciate her time and continued interest in our community. During our discussion she shared that even when we move away from our current shelter-at-home mode, SF will face an economic hit possibly twice as bad as the recession of 2008-2010.
In addition to her regular responsibilities, Assessor Chu has been asked to head San Francisco’s Economic Recovery Task Force, which will make recommendations to kick-start the city’s economy. Assessor Chu asked for our help.
HELP CREATE SF ECONOMIC RECOVERY PLAN
YOU can help guide the Task Force by filling out a short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ERTF-Initial-Survey
The Economic Recovery Task Force is charged with guiding the City’s efforts through the COVID-19 recovery to sustain and revive local businesses and employment, mitigate the economic hardships already affecting the most vulnerable San Franciscans, and build a resilient and equitable future. The Task Force will organize around three main policy areas:
1. Jobs and Business Support
2. Vulnerable Populations
3. Economic Development
The survey is for everyone, is just 11 questions, and takes only a few minutes to complete. The survey includes ways for you to stay involved in the Task Force efforts. Business owners are especially encouraged to fill out the survey.
Everyone is welcome to share the survey link with other San Francisco residents, workers, and business owners as well. Feel free to share the survey link with other groups.
